Summertime – alpine fairy tale
The fresh air of the Sciliar Mountains has always been popular for relaxing holidays during the summer months. The fascination of the surrounding mountains, easy walks along the sunny alpine paths or demanding hikes give back so much energy and joy. One holiday won’t be enough to see all the spectacular sights and walk all the romantic woodland trails of the Sciliar area.
Hiking in the Dolomites – nature’s paradiseThe Alpe di Siusi, Europe’s largest alpine pasture, offers more than 300 km of hiking paths. There are various paths of superlative hiking area, from easy to walk woodland trails to demanding tours. All of these paths offer spectacular views of the surrounding Dolomite peaks, the green hills and alpine meadows with their sea of flowers. Walking along these pastures and alpine rivers where you may watch butterflies, marmots, or even roe deer and hares at dusk will be a highlight of your holidays.
Mountain bikes and city bikesThe Dolomites or the pales mountains as they are also called can be experienced in different ways. Several tours of various degrees of difficulty extend over the Sciliar area. In July there is a possibility to follow the Giro d’Italia route.
Climbing in unspoilt natureDaring climbs lead up to breathtaking heights and the view is simply beautiful. The Dolomites are a challenge to every serious climber, and nowhere will you have such a spectacular panorama as in the legendary Dolomites where the film director Luis Trenker shot his films.
Nordic walking – a new sport in the AlpsFitness walkers have discovered a new passion: the sportive walking. This total body workout carries people into nature. You will be equipped with two very light walking clubs and sensible footwear; Nordic Walking began in Finland as a summer training exercise and fitness walkers in Europe adopted Nordic Walking immediately. Its popularity is growing because everybody can take part. It is serious training for the very sportive people and it is an efficient relief and light training for office workers and couch potatoes.
Riding at a gallop over alpine pasturesThe Haflinger, these good-natured Tyrolean horses with long flax blond manes make every rider’s heart beat faster.
Golf – fairways and greens in Siusi
